Draft

This page is a draft legend, derived by analysing the notes. It was not written by me,
so it needs checking and rewriting in my own words. Delete this box once that is done.

Five kinds of line

Five line shapes actually occur in the notes. The examples below are taken verbatim from the raw memos (Korean originals in brackets).

ShapeActual exampleWhat it does
nounfunction · dynamics · entropyA coordinate not yet opened. Only a marker that something is here
A = Bthe most meta system of representation = natural languageCollapsing two into one
A → Bperception (inside) -> record (outside)Derivation. It has a direction
A ←→ Bmachine code <----> Python, Java, i.e. humanA spectrum. Things sit somewhere between the poles
...?is time an approximation?Left open. No answer yet

Many lines end in a question mark. Lines with no terminal punctuation at all are even more common.

Three kinds of edge

In the graph on the front page, the shape of a line tells you the kind of relation — the same = ←→ applied between concepts.

LineMeaning
thick solid =The two point at essentially the same thing
arrow This one gives rise to that one
dashed Two ends of one axis. Only meaningful in contrast

Anatomy of a note

(the original definition line — kept as it was, if there was one)

also called: ← existing literature on the same thing
stuck at: ← where the thought stopped; the next way in
confidence: ← how far I actually believe this

## my lines
## from the AI ← anything that came out of a conversation is marked
## counterexamples ← where this definition breaks
## linked concepts ← relations to other concepts

Counterexamples are not antonyms. They are cases where this definition fails.
e.g. strong grounding traps you in the language game — a case where “grounding is good” does not hold.

Linked concepts are a different thing. does not mean “the opposite of”; it means two ends of one axis.
e.g. meta ↔ minimal atom (generalist / specialist).

Confidence marks how far a claim is believed, without closing it.
Most of these notes are questions rather than answers, so what is held firmly and what was merely thrown out look identical from outside.
low / medium / high is enough.

The four slots also called, stuck at, confidence and counterexamples are still empty.

The originals

The bullets in each note were moved from unedited raw memos. Typos and broken grammar were kept.
